Hi Paul,

Congrats on your first factory engraved Chiefs Special. A beauty.

Mine is J849971, and according to Roy's letter it was one of 11 with Class A engraving that shipped to Jon Jovino Company in NYC on September 17, 1981 (the date in 1787 when the Contenintal Congress ratified the U.S. Constitution).

Mine has a pinned barrel, which S&W eliminated soon after mine shipped.
