During the gun buying frenzy of the 2009-'17 period these often went for $700-900. There haven't been large numbers of recent sales but one in nice condition would probably be in the $600 range.

Incredible. Hang on to it because it will only get more rare and pricey.

In 2008 I had paid about $575 for mine in "used" but near mint condition. Turns out it is what S&W calls a "hand picked" new model that had been sent to a 2007 gun writers seminar in IL for discussion and testing. Thus the "used" designation. I have an email from Roy Jinks in 2008 explaining that that's the reason for my particular revolver's smoothness and accuracy.

At a gun show this afternoon I was shopping mine around. A S&W dealer/collector at the show offered to swap me a vintage, near mint 17, the asking price of which was $1,100. I'm not interested in swapping one safe queen for another, so I declined. If he had offered me $900 cash I would have taken it, but I now believe a near mint 63-4 5" will bring at least $1,000 in a couple of years.
