I think the lack of replies here indicates that we aren't sure what you are asking. There aren't many 27s that need polishing depending on what you mean by polish. All I've ever done with mine is clean them well and then add a light coat of Renaissance wax. If you think you have an issue maybe post a picture or two. Heck, post the pictures anyway, we love to see 27s.

I`ll bite. Use a very light dab of Flitz, and I do mean light. Buff with soft cloth, like micro fiber. I`m thinking you have a 27 with a few miles on it that could use a bit of tlc

I've polished bluing with a jeweler's cloth and it seems to work well.

There is a very fine line “polishing” a blue gun without removing bluing... just wax it and be happy.

The model 27 came with a nicely polished finish, why are you thinking you need to polish yours? By the way, polishing pastes can quickly rub through the blued surface, leaving you with a firearm that has a very thin or perhaps no finish.

This is my favorite Model 27 shipped in March 1960. It cleans up real nice.

I'd start by removing the grips and the cylinder.
I like Hoppe's 9 and their BoreSnake to clean the barrel and cylinder.
Always clean the barrel the direction the bullet travels. That's why I prefer a BoreSnake to cleaning rods.
After cleaning the gun with Hoppe's 9 use brake clean to rinse it off and a can of compressed air to help evaporate the brake clean.
Lightly apply Flitz with the end of your finger and lightly rub the polish to remove all of the dirt and grime.
Wipe and buff with a Flitz microfiber cloth. They are the best I've found soo far.
Then apply a thin coat of Renaissance Wax the same way you did the Flitz and buff to a shine with a 2nd Flitz microfiber cloth.
I use a toothbrush to clean the grips and a cotton swab to clean where the grip screws go.
I then apply a coat of Renaissance Wax to the grips also.
That should clean it up real nice.

I've never seen any of the blue finish on any of my polishing cloths.

I lightly rub with the end of my finger and not aggressively at all.

I think you would need an electric buffer/polisher and apply some pretty good pressure to remove the bluing.

Yes,Model 27s came with a great blueing. However,50 plus years later most guns can use a bit of a facelift

I too subscribe to a good cleaning and then a light coat of Renaissance wax applied with your fingertip. Then buff with microfiber. Do the stocks too.
