Thank you. Its not a safe queen and I do shoot it.
I just like to keep my guns clean.
This is how it came to me.
It was sent back to the factory years ago for some trigger work and to have a smooth target trigger added.
I took these Target stocks off of a M68-2 CHP prior to selling it.
I thought that they fit the gun and its history perfectly.
It was my brother's service revolver for the first 10 years that he was in law enforcement.
I know its been fired a lot.

Clawgrass--those are some nice 66s! The 4" has a lanyard ring, no? Is it aftermarket?

The original M66/19 are beautiful guns! While I sometimes forget to dig out my M19 for lengths at a time, I always enjoy shooting it when I do!

I love the 66. It was the first 357 I ever shot back when I was 14. It was my uncle’s gun. He actually used it stop my father from getting mugged at gun point 20+ years ago. No one got hurt thank goodness. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get that gun. So, I got a couple others. Here the most recent LGS find:

I own/have owned more M-66s than any other gun. There’s currently three in my safe.
Hmm, may be time for another.
This is a -2.
Everyone should have a 2.5” or 3”
Combat Magnum.

My 66-2 called out my name at the local gun show. I enjoy taking it to the range. Nothing special, but glad to have it! Bob

The very first gun that I bought as an adult was a 66-2 4". It was in a pile of Police trade-ins at a pawn shop. Sadly, it was stolen along the the car that it was chained to.
Here are the 3" inchers in my current stock. They are 66-2, 66-4, and 66-5. I seem to have missed the 66-3.
I only have one 4", but it is an early no-dash with the stainless steel sights (front & rear). It shoots like a house a fire. Currently, it wears a pair of Fuzzy Farrant's smooth, double swell stocks, they are a really terrific fit for my hands.
I have a few other 66's laying around, but have not taken the time to drag them out, wipe them down, and photograph them. That may be a project for a rainy day.

I have a pair of them and would recommend one or the other to anyone looking for the perfect 357. They just balance so well plus I’m a big stainless fan!

How do you figure nothing special? How many do you see at the LGS? They may not be overly rare but in my mind they certainly are special! Yours is an excellent example. I gave my son-in-law (yeah, I like him) a 66-3 2.5" a few years back and it's always a hit with his friends at the range. Classic.
I still retain my dash 1 though. It's stuck behind the 19.

A nice 66 is one gun I can’t get my hands on. I owned a 4 inch 66-8 for a while but I found it boring. It shot fine but I didn’t care for the aesthetics. I’ve had a few chances to purchase older 66s over the years but the time was never right and they’ve all escaped.

I have owned a few M66's over the years, I remember back in the mid 1980's I owned a couple of very slick ex police M66's that were being traded in for 9mm autos.
I really like the M66-3 that I currently own

Hello Js 2721, Yes the Lanyard ring is after market.....handmade and ...expensive, I found it at + Bowen Classic Arms + About B C A
I do a lot of hiking and as an extra safety measure against losing my revolver, I use a lanyard ring. Bowen makes great stuff...you get what you pay for!
