Default Fiber optic front sight for 686-6

Wanting to put a fiber optic on my 686-6. Thinking about a Dawson, which size would be best with a six inch barrel? Many thanks

Default 686 sight

I installed a Green Hi-Viz on my 686 pro.
It works great for my 70+ eyesight.
The height is .268.
Also ordered one for my 67.

I have both Dawson and Hi-Viz front sights for model 629 6 1/2", both are excellent. If I need another fiber optic front sight whichever is on sale or a lower price will be my decision.

I have dawsons on my EDC model 649, a 3" model 36 and my glock 39. All have been flawless and very bright. The only compliant that I have is with the 36, it is for the 80s chiefs special with adjustable rear. This means that the front sight is fairly tall and square which can present some problems with snagging on some holsters (if the barrel tip is exposed).

I am getting to where I prefer dawson FO sights over all other brands and types of sights that I have used.

The orange HI-Viz on my 351PD is really nice too, but the red hi-viz I bought for my 327 is a complete dog, it is not bright at all.

On the Dawson website they have the pinned sight and they have one for the Dx/Classic. I am assuming I need the pinned one, since mine is not the Dx/Classic. What is the difference between the two sights?

The DX style is a spring loaded fit. Push the sight back and lift it out from the front. The pinned front has to have the pin pushed out to remove the sight. The new sight will need to be seated {some may have some fitting to do} then drilled and pinned. Just got to go easy with that tiny drill bit.
