Default Model 325NG Night Guard

My collection was free of guns with the lock, but I found one that I really like at a what I think was a pretty good price.

Model 325 Night Guard with a 2 1/2" barrel. The seller said that he had the box but not the paperwork. When I got it home I found the paperwork under the foam padding.

Night Guards are cool. Smith shouldn't have dropped them. Ditch those grips if you want to lighten the package. Too heavy. Pretty good price you got. Shoot it like mad.

Weighs a full pound less than a 1911. It will recoil. But great to shoot and carry. Enjoy. Good buy. I think around 1800 exist.

Lock or not that is a fine revolver. I'd be happy to own it!

I'll probably keep the grips on it. I like the J frame size Pachmayr Compac Professional Grip. These seem to be the same style, just with the S&W logo.

I haven't shot it yet, so I may still change my mind.

Those grips on my 325 nightguard fit my hand just right.Recoil on that lightweight 45acp is comfortable.Jumps a little with Buffalo bore 45 auto rim but I don’t shoot enough of them to worry. You got a fine revolver at a good price.

You can shoot mine anytime you’re in the neighborhood.

I have 2 of them. One with a titanium cylinder is my carry gun, The other is going to get a 45colt cylinder cut for moon clips.

You need to have recoil absorbing grips on these. I tried some wood combats and it was painful.

Did you buy the only that @Perplexed had listed on OSA? I almost “pulled the trigger” on that one, waited too long lol.

You did well! I believe he also had a 329 NG at one time. Think he sold it last year. You will love it!

I just had my 325 Night Guard out yesterday. I forgot how cool it was, it had been a couple of years since I shot it.

Late to the party here, but I love my 325NG, and carry it often. I am undecided as to whether to try +P’s in this light frame. Any thoughts? I’ve gone through a number of wooden and rubber grips, but have settled on these Pachmyer combo’s seen on the left here, giving me the best of both worlds, and I’m very pleased with them.

There are a couple of them for sale at a local shop, more worn than the OP's. I tried to warm up to them, but am holding out for a nice 625.

Thanks, it's an Rgrizzle. OWB easy on, easy off....like a paddle but better. I have a couple of his and love ‘em. But just know that he’s between 3-4 months out.

Good Idea. I managed to find a nice 625-4 a while back. I like the fact that they can share moon clips.

Yep. Those 325s with the Ti cylinder are REALLY light. I like shooters, I have the carry guns all locked up.

No problem with (+P) in the Sc/Al alloy frame.

I shoot 45 Super in mine too, as others also do.

Since these cases are normally taper crimped you have to look out for bullets jumping crimp when using them in these lightweight revolvers.

I like to reload my 45ACP (+P) & 45 Supers (for my revolvers) in S-L 45 Auto Rim cases & use a roll crimp, when possible.

I need to use cushie grips which cover the back strap with these loads.

I swapped out the factory sights for a red ramp front & an adjustable white-outline rear.

The Night Guards were a pretty series. They are a bit punishing in the recoil department. I have the 329NG. Even the slower 200gr hand load can sting the palm.

I have had Rosewood Combat Grips for my Night Guard for years now. I also located 45 Auto Rim but had to reload them myself.

If I remember correctly Pachmayr made those grips and put S&W's name on them. Love the Night Guards. I only have the 386 but if I ever see another one laying around with no home I'll definitely scoff it up. Enjoy!!

I almost bought one but went with the 625-10 as a lightweight companion to my big 625.
