Three inches of fury
Hi folks,
Just wanted to share a 60-10 that fell in my lap. She came with the Uncle Mikes, but looks a bit more dressed with the bananas.
Looking for a holster now, she needs to be carried. Daily.

It was in a dark corner of a pawn shop, looking as if it had lived its life in the floorboard area of an oil field truck.
Actual crude oil may have been used as a lubricant. It was funky in there.

Congratulations
Those 357 Magnum, 3" Chiefs Special Target, Model 60s are great little revolvers
Mine is from a small run of Mag-Na-Ported, 357 Magnum, Model 60 Chiefs Special Targets for Lew Horton
These were called the "Small Hunter"

Nice find; probably my favorite J frame. Found its earlier -4 version in 38 Special last fall.

I'm on the hunt for one of those too. 60-9 or 60-10 3". There is a scarcer-than-hens-teeth fixed sight 60-9 that is REALLY what I want...

Although I used to carry S&W Model 28-2 and 66, my 60-10 is by far my favorite revolver.

I have one of these also. It was a special run around 1990. Kinda rare. I sure would like to know how many they made.

Request a Historical letter
If your revolver was part of any type of special run, that information will be included

Here's my 629 with similar grips that I also don't like. I'm leaving them on as this one has never been fired and they came with the revolver.

Great looking 3" Model 60! Best I can do is a 60-15 Pro Series. I carried her for a short period of time. The 3 inches are wonderful shooters! Keep an eye on the screws, as they like to loosen up especially if you shoot any magnums out of her. Mine came wearing some pretty nice stocks too.

Those are all nice ones. We have one here and it goes well with the 686 +.
Three inch barrels are favored by both of us here.

For appropriate holsters for a 3” Model 60, check out El Paso Saddlery and Galco:
That speed loader carrier is, obviously, Bianchi (now made in Mexico).

I find my 60-10 very controllable with 158 gr. factory .357 mag. with the Crimson Trace grips that are on it. I also find it very accurate out to 50 yards. That extra 1" of barrel and better sights really make it superior to the Chiefs Special.

Had one and I traded it foolishly for the next shiny object.
Grips/stocks, for me at least, made a world of difference. I had targets...went with the gun. Doh!

It's a great configuration for a J Frame. I bought my Model 60-4 new, about 2 1/2 months after it shipped from the factory. Shipped March 24, 1992, and purchased on June 13, 1992.

My contribution is a 60-15 wearing the shoes she came with. Like a lady in a shoe store, I've tried others, but keep coming back these!
