Default Pawn shop find: Model 13-4 **NEW GRIPS/PIC**

Just picked this up. Looks to have hardly been fired if at all. Came with original box, VCI paper, manual, warranty guide, firearm safety pamphlet, and pamphlet from Ace Grips, but not what I assume would have been the factory magna grips, unless the ones on there now actually came from the factory. Haven't looked up the serial number but manual is dated 6/93 so that should be in the ballpark. Unfortunately, some numbnuts at the shop put the shop label over the factory label. I could have just left it there but gave it a try with some painted on Goo Gone. This label was stuck fast so I only managed to save the last two digits of the serial and the product code (100304). Maybe should have left it alone but oh well. A bit disappointing, but since I was prepared to buy it before I knew there was a box, I guess I can live with it.

Anyone know if the handwriting in the space where it says "Features" might mean? I figured it was probably some kind of stock or location number written there by the original dealer.

p.s. Sorry about the small pic of the gun, the site is giving me a hard time for some reason.

p.p.s. Added some Pachmayr Compac grips, see third pic below.

Nice find!

Those look like PGS Hideout grips, definitely not original.

With a find like that, who frets about the box?

Just so that I can get motivated to visit more pawn shops, how many Benjamins did you have to give for that?

Nice find and a very good price. For shooting, I’d probably put a set of Pachmayr Compac grips on it. For looks, I’d go with a set of smooth factory RB Targets.

Hate to disagree with one of our Moderators but a set of K boots from Craig Spegel would be perfection.

Consider yourself a winner! I need another firearm like I need another hole in my head, but for that price, I would have bought it in a heartbeat.

Very good looking gun!! The FBI's issued gun years ago. Those 3"s are getting harder and harder to find. Good deal on the price also. Thanks for showing and enjoy.

You’re absolutely right, but there’s a really long wait to have a set made and existing sets are bringing big money at auction.

I borrowed a Pachmayr Compac grip from my 19 snubby and posted a pic in my OP. Much better than the Hideouts, IMHO.
