Default Shipping Date lookup...

Hi, Everybody,

my name is Soenke, I‘m from germany, and I‘m quite new to this forum. Reason for joining is that I just purchased a 627-0. :-)

I don‘t have it in my hands yet, it‘ll arrive this week.

But I already know the serial number, and as you can imagine I‘m highly interested in it‘s shipping date...

So if anyone owning a Smith & Wesson Cataloge has some spare minutes to look it up, I‘d be a fan... ;-)

Serial number is BPR2460.

Thanks in advance,
Soenke

The book shows the 627-0 revision began in 1989. Your serial number places the manuf somewhere around 1993. The exact prefix "BPR" is not specifically listed in the catalog, so this is just a guess. This would be just before the 627-1 was introduced.

Guten Tag Soenke,
Willkommen im Forum

You are acquiring a very fine addition to your family. Many of us own an example of product code 101024 and would not part with them.

Production began with the 627 and ran on through the -2 engineering revision. The -0 engineering revision is the most common example of that configuration

By chance is the box included with your purchase?

If so, the 4 digit number under the heading "SPEC ORD" will give us the date of manufacture

Dankeschoen and thanks very much for your real quick answers, guys!

It arrived today! Wow, this is a beautiful, heavy product which really feels good when holding it in your hands. I can‘t wait trying it out... ;-)

But to your questions: No, it came without a box... just the gun wrapped in bubblewrap... So no chance on this path.

Wow, this is real fun... It‘s a completely different experience compared to shooting a 686... I don‘t know the correct english-american term, but the „focal point“ of the gun is much better. It‘s simply „steady“, even with heavier loads.

It was a good idea to go for a 627... 😁

Glad that you are enjoying the 627. I doubt that lots of these made it over to Germany

Lots of us agree that the balance and handling of Full Lug 627 revolver is superb. Here is mine

I have owned mine for many years and I have no plans on parting with it

Now, you need to post some images of your revolver for all of you Smith & Wesson Forum friends to enjoy.
