Kansas City Police Department Issued Revolver
Someone on a FB group was asking what revolver his father would have likely carried in the 80s working for Kansas City, MO PD.

I would guess a 4” Model 19 or Model 66, supplanted not long after by some kind of 9mm.

When S&WCA held a meeting in KC their historian said they went from heavy barrel model 14 to model 65. The S&W 4026.
This is a model 14 shipped to KCPD in 1970.

This was a small order, less than 20 as I remember. The gun was brought in to the Missouri Valley Collectors show with a story that it had belonged to a high up KCPD officer.

Yes Roy that is a great looking gun. Next time I am in NV I will need to come by and fondle it. The gun being in such good condition supports that it was carried by someone high up, alot of office time and less street time.
