While that me may help with their customer relations from that FTC website it appears they would still be in violation of the law.

Did the owners of Tyler kill your dog or something?

You seem to have a considerable amount of animosity towards them.

There are plenty of vendors in the firearms hobby that have wait times as long or longer than Tyler, and nobody threatens them with criminal prosecution.

Having actually ordered from Tyler, waited, and eventually received my merchandise, my only complaint is the wildly inaccurate delivery estimate on their site, and the lack of communication. Fix that, and they're just like many other single-source vendors for unique items in the hobby.

I have nothing against them. I do think they're product is ugly and believe there are far better options available. I've pointed that out. Meh.

For starters, I've made no threats against them in any way. I certainly can't prosecute them.

I also have no first hand knowledge of potential transgressions. I have not made any accusations nor have I submitted them for investigation. Nor will I, for the same reason.

Folks have stated Tyler T has done nothing wrong. And folks have stated they've committed fraud.

I have pointed to government documents that suggest they have legal transgressions. However, I'm not a judge nor lawyer.

If they have broken the law that's between them, their accusor and the government. I am none of those.

I'm unsure why anyone would want to defend them here with what has been said about them with no one suggesting those negative statements are inaccurate.

One does not need to order from them to be aware of their business practices. They can read the comments posted here for years about them.

All I've done is joined a conversation on this forum and have posted nothing but facts.

If you disagree with anything specific I've said please feel free to address that.

Default Order received today

I placed an order with Tyler on 4/10/20. Order received today (2/22/21) so about 10 months give or take a couple of weeks.

If everyone would just stop ordering for about a year,I’d bet he could get caught up with his backlog. But the orders keep rolling in Tyler T-Grips
It’s a great position to be in lol

Given the way the guy does business, if the orders stopped I bet he would go out of business and the outstanding orders would never get filled. His current business model smells like a Ponzi scheme, where the current money coming in is supplying materials to fill the old orders. At some point, the house of cards collapses.

Surprised a larger company hasn't offered to buy Tyler out and turn the business around. Isn't like Tyler is mfg anything very high tech here. Just poor business practices that will catch up with them in the long haul.

The Tyler guy is a mastermind of marketing, even if he doesn't know it. He offers a product that has greater cosmetic than practical appeal yet it stays in demand. Many who buy from him know the wait will be a long one but they place orders anyway then complain about how long it takes to get them.

The Tyler guy works at his own pace and is not in any way encumbered with modern technology in today's "want it right now" world. That's sort of refreshing. He has more business than he can keep up with. How many of us could be so fortunate with such an endeavor?

Some call the Tyler guy a criminal and accuse him of fraud, but he's not a crook, just slow and "slow" isn't a crime. I'm kind of envious of the Tyler guy.

I was self employed for decades. The family business had been larger with employees, subcontractors and the attendant headaches. I kept mine smaller and sometimes clients had to wait months before I could get to them. Most would wait, especially the ones I’d done work for previously. It’s a great position to be in.

Did you take your customers' money, and then tell them they would wait three weeks and instead deliver in 14 months? That's what Tyler is doing.

This article by the Federal Trade Commission appears to suggest their business practices are not lawful.

From the link:

requires sellers to have a reasonable basis for claiming they can ship an order within a certain time and details what sellers should do if there is a delay

By law, a seller should ship your order within the time stated in its ads or over the phone. If the seller doesn’t promise a time, you can expect it to ship your order within 30 days.

The shipment “clock” begins when the seller receives a “properly completed order.” That includes your name, address and payment (check, money order or authorization to charge an existing credit account — whether the account is charged at that time or not).

If the seller is unable to ship within the promised time, it must notify you, give a revised shipping date and give you the chance to cancel for a full refund or accept the new shipping date. The seller also must give you some way to exercise the cancellation option for free — for example, by supplying a prepaid reply card or staffing a toll-free telephone number.

If you don’t respond — and the delay is 30 days or less — it’s assumed that you accept the delay and are willing to wait for the merchandise.
If you don’t respond — and the delay is more than 30 days — the order must be canceled by the 30th day of the delay period and a full refund issued promptly.

How to file a complaint.

Sure, but you still hate to get defrauded out of any amount when you're the victim.

I'm not an expert, but any alleged violation may be of a civil nature rather than a criminal one. There's a big difference.

Exactly
On their website it discloses their slow/poor business practices and how to get your money back if you change your mind and don’t want to wait. It’s a small claims action at best. The Feds have bigger fish to fry.

Here’s one on eBay for a 100 bucks that looks like it was found on a shipwreck. I’ve seen them ask as much as $200!

I ordered one in April of 2020. Got it in December. Eight months. Ordered two more early in February. I fully epected not to see them until fall. They arrived yesterday. Four weeks to the day. Go figure. Ordering two more today. I'll pop smoke when they get here.

I agree BK Grips and his service are great. Unfortunately, he can't do a stainless appearing grip. On those I use Tyler's and wait. I've dealt with them enough to know that the wait will be long but not as long as I have waited on some other custom products.

Good to know!

I texted them (at their suggestion) to see if they are accepting orders. No response yet.

I'm willing to wait YEARS for my T-grips.
