Help on Dating and Pricing a 686 No Dash
My brother passed away and I'm trying to help his wife sell a couple of his guns. One of them is a SW 686 no dash.
Can anybody tell me the ship date of this gun and what I should ask for it? I plan to post it on the Phoenix Armslist website
Serial Number: AUB692X
Thank you

6" barrel. Probably 100 rounds shot through it so it's pretty clean. No box, manual, lock, etc.

Nice to know. I have one and I know I bought it new in 83-85. Have to dig the box out and look at it. Mine is a 6 inch and has a serial number of ABC55xx. Lovely pistol. Nice to know what it is sort of worth although mine will go to a fav relative or grand kid most likely. I think it was a little over $400 back then. Maybe the receipt is in the box.

Both of my 686NDs have "AUExxxx" prefixes and date to ~April-May 21, 1986. I know this because I bought my first 686ND in August 1986 NEW at a LGS in CA. The OEM grips have April 1986 stamps. Still have all the paperwork, boxes, grips, LGS register receipts and accessory receipts, etc...
