M-657 3" - Couldn't Resist 41 Mag
Acquired this sweet 41 Mag shorty while attending recent local Birmingham show. I kept eyeballing this baby and when I finally decided to go-for-it, it was already sold. Turned out it was sold to another Gun-Buddy so I found him and worked out a trade before the show ended. It handles/shoots just as well as I thought it would.
With too much time on my hands, I took some photos with my cell phone using a 2nd Amendment sign idea I borrowed from another forum member's post as backdrop. Got to messing around with photo editing and added some special effects as seen in photos. Also put together a 5 second video with slow motion fireball but I can't get it to upload as an attachment. File must be too large.
Anyway, thanks for allowing me to share my new addition and playing around with photo editing.

Very cool pics and REALLY nice gun. Any time I've said I'd come back to give a gun a second look it was gone never to be found again. Great luck!

Great looking gun!! I've got the .44 version, but with Hogue rubber grips. I didn't think I ever needed one, but I got it in a package with a 629 8 3/8. Great fun to shoot, not so much with full loads, though.
You're gonna love it!!

You've got yourself a unique one there.
Many people assume that with the 3" bbl, it's one of the Lew Horton 3" N-Frames, but it's not.
The 3" bbl 657 was S&W capitalizing on their popularity, they were known as "stocking dealer specials", and 5,490 were made in 1986.
Does your serial number fall into one of these ranges?
ANE3802 - ANE5700
ANK1020 - ANK1998
ANN000 - ANN743
ANN1000 - ANN1801
ANP4296 - ANP4641
Mine is ANN16xx

Ray,
Congratulations on a wonderful addition to your family
The 3" 657 has been a favorite of mine for many years. I acquired this one over three decades ago
I remember carrying this revolver during the Hurricane Andrew Tragedy.

I have ANE5665 - am guessing it was made about 1986? IIRC paid about $425.00 for it in CA about 15 years back. Belonged to a LGS owner who was trimming down his collection. The gun has become my "walking around the property" carry up in OR in a solid OWB holster from HC Leather.

My affinity to all .41 mag. guns has really got me interested in this 57 model.
Congrats to the folks who have it. And this gun should replace Coffee on your range days.

I see a fellow "offering" one of these for about $2,300.00 - that's a bit nuts, isn't it?
