Default 686-6 snub got some classic panels.

My 686-6 snubby is a nice gun. I’ve always loved the old school magnas that S&W used to ship their revolvers with. The checkering and grooves and medallions were just wonderful. We didn’t know how good we had it at the time. I know that some people tossed the wooden stocks and put on rubber grips!

I found a pair of basically new condition magnas. Just received today, and they look and feel great. Fit is alright, especially considering this pair was probably fitted at the factory to a specific k-frame (either a 66 or a 19). There's a small gap between the panel and the frame on the starboard side panel at the front. It's probably due to the frame itself being slightly off kilter. The good new is, there’s no wiggle or play.

Even though my gun isn’t an older one, the stocks make it a little nicer than it was before.

Gotta tell you, I really like the look of those Magnas on your 686. I have an inclination to follow in your footsteps, too. Kinda reminds me of the old days where I owned a K-frame Model 19.

Nice going!

I love the way they look but not so much the way they shoot.

I was torn between the magnas and a set of vintage Herrett's I found online. Opted for the Herrett's stocks.

I love these Altamont panels... they minimize the profile of my 686+ EDC and give it that classic look.
