For some reason the parts involving the ejector rod on my model 69 are different than the other L-frames I am finding videos on or schematics for. I am having trouble getting mine back together and may have lost a part but I'm not sure.

Anyone know where I can find a parts schematic for a model 69?

While the 9 is technically a L-frame. It is not. I has several improvements to make it able to handle .44 Mag loads, that's the reason why some parts are different compared with other L frames.

I dont think you'll find those schematics anywhere since it is a fairly new gun.

Thanks for your insight. I have the 4.2 inch version that's been around since 2014. I know some of the aftermarket gun parts manufactures that have lists of guns their parts fit don't include the 69 on their lists. How long do you think it takes for a gun to become "established".

Don't know if you found what you were looking for, but here is a picture of the the "cylinder internals" of the 4 1/4" M69 .

Remember these are reverse threaded - Loosen - Clockwise
(Tighten - Counterclockwise).

Exactly what I needed. To quote Elvis, "thank you, thank you, thank you very much." All I could get from S&W was they would send me a label to send the gun in and they would reassemble it, which is a pretty good offer but with things the way they are, I really didn't want to trust shipping right now. Again, thanks for the picture, Paul, truly worth a thousand words.

Ok... so I did lose a part. The center pin spring vanished off my workbench and I can’t find one in stock anywhere. Does anyone know if there is a standard or sae equivalent that would work for the short term?

Thanks all! I have one from a very old ball point pen in there now (all the newer ones are too large). It should hold until I can get one from S&W.

I can visualize that after my demise someone will clean out my basement shop and find all manner of gun, fishing reel, and machine parts and have them for sale on EBay, thus enabling his retirement.

Don’t know why I forgot about Numrich, they had plenty in stock. I got my package today (I picked up a couple spare center pin springs and new style sear springs too) and put the correct spring in.
