I had one of the new " classic " 25's in 45 colt . The front sight was too low . Even with the rear sight lowered as low as it would go , it still shot high @ 20yds using a 255 gr cast bullet with just std 45 colt loads . I finally was able to get a taller front sight installed by a friend . The cylinder throats were smaller than the groove diameter of the barrel and had to be opened up to .454 for cast bullets . It had a severe tight spot where the barrel threaded onto the frame . After literally pounding a lead slug past that tight spot I measured it . It measured .448 . I could of " fire lapped " that tight spot out , but it would of taken many many rounds to remove it . At that point , I gave up on it and sold it . I later bought an older model a 25-5 , 4" . It had .454 cylinder throats and no tight spots in the barrel . I still needs a higher front sight to shoot higher power 45 Colt loads . But using 255 gr cast bullets using std load data , with the rear sight bottomed out it shoots point of aim = point of impact . I bought a Ruger Old Model Vaquero (built on the 44 magnum frame ) to handle higher pressure loads . I realize my answer is somewhat long , but I hope it helps with your decision . Regards Paul
