As much coveted as the S&W factory combat grips are I kind of lean towards something a bit more compact on shorty barrels. N frame RB grips from Altamont are laminated and thin, so I gambled a bit and got these from a Thailand maker. They're a bit wider and squared off along the back. Checkering isn't quite as sharp as factory but the color is a pretty good match. Medallions look good too.

Grips come with a brass screw which of course isn't correct. I used an S&W Magna factory screw (whose slot I cleaned up after seeing this shot ) to self-tap the brass stud. Cutting oil not needed but it sure makes it easier.

They fit absolutely snug, no wiggle wobble at all.

Good to know, i've considered ordering, but was concerned about the fit and returns...

The bottom edge of the checkering on the right grip appears to be off a bit, but other than that they look pretty sweet.
