Default New Culinas for 586

I just recieved my first set of Culina grips to put on a new to me 586-4 I got a couple months ago. Grips are Bastogne walnut, I am blown away with them. The fit and finish are amazing and fit my hand great. Jennifer was awesome. After seeing members Culina grips I knew I had to get some as well. Thought I would share.

RevolverP320,
I hate to tell you, but Culina grips are like Lay’s Potato Chips, you cant have just one!! I believe I have about 7 pair now. John must have a fantastic “woodpile”. Like you said, Jennifer is fantastic too. Here is one of my favorite pair:

Truth! I have 6 pair, I think. Always looking for a S&W with mismatched grips so I can contact them and see what they have sitting around.

I agree, I have too many to post pictures but I did have to slow down. When the IRS wouldn't let me list John & Jennifer as dependents, I had to take it easy for a while (until the next time)!

Thanks but I sure don't. Sorry, all I know is John did have to send them out to be done. And it was without a doubt done by hand to 20 lpi.

They sure are, Roger. Ebony has a lot of different looks. I also have a pair of solid black Ebony grips that John did years ago for me. I think I remember them being Gaboon Ebony. They are really heavy/dense. And, I may be wrong, I think some types of Ebony are difficult to import, this may be one of those.

Those sir, look mighty fine!

The contrast between the beautiful blue and the beautiful wood are just great... IT JUST WORKS !

Here's my 586-4 with some Roasted Birds Eye Maple.

I had them spficly made/ordered to match the color of my late pups eyes(the grain the swirls) ... Culina really nailed it with these....

I have looked at them before, I just couldent get what I wanted... it may sound silly, I had this combination made up like a kind of commemorative gun for my pup... I like guns, I loved my Dog so why not combine the 2...

I think you are right. I bought a set of RB Combats for my 3 inch M65 from them. They were listed as Gaboon Ebony and look like that.

Those look superb, JR. The contrast of the dark grips and the stainless steel of the M65 looks perfect to me. I looked for pictures of mine on a gun and they are MIA at the moment. I put mine on my nickel 3.5 inch barreled 27-2 and they looked great. I may have to retake the pictures.

So I checked out Culina grips based on this thread.

They are works of art, but too rich for me.

Default Stabilized Quilted Maple

Here’s my 686-4 3” wearing Stabilized Quilted Maple by John Culina.

Almost looks like velvet.

When I started down this road, I didn't think I would be wanting some nice stocks for my guns to wear. But seeing this thread.....makes me want to maybe get a nice set for my twin snubs below. They do have a nice set of factory round combats. But I really do like Culinas.

Here's my recent Culina purchase. Italian Olive.

On my nickel 27-2

Buonasera!
