S&W 686 No Dash
For anyone who is thinking about sending their L frame for the "M" recall it took exactly 7 weeks from the day it was shipped until I got it back today. Looks and functions as expected.

Just note because the picture opens the discussion...
Never would I ever send it back to them with those stocks on there for fear that they would lose them or ding them up. It would make the trip wearing Pachmayr or crust Hogue rubber. I wouldn't send the original box, either. (I will guess that you didn't send either!)
I think that is a great turnaround time and your report is helpful!

My dad had it done on his no dash waaay back when the mod first became available. No issues since, yes his did bind, don’t care about “collectibility” as it’ll stay in the family.

CobiaS&W. 686 no dash. Great gun, and a snubby no less! Very desirable S&W. Nice!

Personally I don't know why anyone would send these back now. My opinion so don't flame me. I thought the recall was a safety issue and sent my no-dash back for the 'M' mod back in the early 90s but what I understand, it was just an issue with Federal primers and I believe no other ammo caused it. If I knew then what I know now, I probably would not have sent mine back. I never had an issue before sending it back.
