If you like the holster, how about a Galco belt?

I have had a Simply Rugged belt that was wonderful. I have worn it out over many years and am currently using $30 Gun Belt. I have three in multiple colors and wear them with my office attire. Very good belts.

I like my belts from Ernie Hill Speed Leather. I've recently lost a lot of weight and ordered a size 52 belt. It's now way too big after only 2 months. I need to order a 46 next.

I like Ernie's belts because they are double stitched and 2 layers. The gun stays put and the belt does not slip.

When I read your question I was thinking what Murphydog answered.
Galco makes good belts too.

dal tech force makes nice gun belts. They even offer some with a steel core sandwiched between 2 thick layers of leather. I have their "bull belt" and am really impressed.

Take a look at bullhide belts. I wear on e every day. They make steel lined, and up to 1/4" thick. You could hang a 56 Buick on the belts

I like the ratchet style belts because they offer a more precise fit. Check out the reinforced belts from Kore Essentials.

Almost totally agree with the above. ! I use my Bullhide with a 4506, which is not quite the size of a '56 Buick, but it isn't a lightweight either.

You have a lot of excellent ideas here to work with. Galco makes a good belt. I have
worn one exactly like the one pictured above by MP-5 every day holding up my jeans for about the last 7 or 8 years-still looks pretty good. It will hold up a pretty heavy gun. It is
a double layer belt. I just measured the width on mine to be 1-5/8" Good luck on making your choice.

Another vote to check out Galco belts.

With that said, my favorite is Beltman's double-layer gun belts. I've been using them for several years. I've got a 1.5" bullhide, 1.25" bullhide, and currently using a 1.25" horsehide belt.

Since you mentioned hiking, you might want to check out one of the many nylon belts on the market. I believe the originator was the Wilderness Tactical Instructor belt, or the non-metal Frequent Flyer belt. They work quite well, especially if you get the 5-stitch or reinforced models for extra support. Being nylon, they'll be less affected by sweat than leather belts. However, comparing my Frequent Flyer belts to my Beltman leather belts, I find I get better support with the leather belts.

Another suggestion would be to try and find a belt that will fit snugly in your belt loop. It'll help keep the gun stable in place, which will help make it more comfortable for you.

BELTMAN. Used to be made about ten miles from me and the guy sold the company, but the quality is still there. He uses bull hide (not cow hide) and only uses strips cut from the shoulder of the bull which is supposedly the strongest. His belts are two layers, glued and sewed and he switches the grain on opposing sides to make it stronger. I have a half a dozen of them for dress, jeans and hunting and they are my go-to belt.

That reminds me. Make sure to follow the sizing directions for whatever belt maker you choose. Pant size and waist size aren't always the same.

I just ordered a Hank's Belt. I like the Buffalo, it's nice and soft. It has holes all the way to the end which should help me with my weight loss.

If you think you might carry an IWB on this belt at some time in the future
it would be a good idea to add a couple of extra inches.

Is Ernie Hill still in business?? I have had one of his belts forever, at least 35 maybe 40 years. It is a great belt, with a piece of steel insert between two layers on the gun side for stiffness. It is great. It hung in the closed for years until my waist line came back with its tolerances!! Far and away the best belt I ever had and I now wear it again almost daily.
