I came across a 34-1 and was curious as to what its value could be.? Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, what a beautiful example! If you also have the tool kit, and the box and grips number to the gun, I would say that would be at least a $1,000 package in my neck of the woods. 34's are hard to come by in this area.

The SCSW 4th edition lists the ANIB price of $850, but that was 4 years ago.

I paid $900 for a 2" barreled version, same condition but without the box, etc. a couple months ago.

This past weekend I saw two 4” 63s (stainless version) w/box and goodies at a show in Lebanon, TN. Both sellers were asking $1150. My buddy sold his heavily molested 4” 63 for $550 at the same show. It’s been a couple years since I’ve seen a 4” 34, but 2”’nickel and blue were going for $650 to $750 w/boxes and goodies.

Model 34's seem to sell quite well. Perhaps you have done this already, but if not, one place to find sale prices for firearms is Gunbroker.
Once registered, you can do searches, and if you do an "Advanced" search, you can find guns that have sold recently. There are a few 34-1's that have recently sold, so you can probably get a nice comparison to the condition of your gun. One caution: make sure you look at items that have actually had bids and sold - there are plenty of items that show as "ended" with a relatively high starting price, but no bids.

$800-$1000 where I shop for the package. Just the gun a little less, maybe quite a bit less if you're lucky. Paid $541 for this nickel 34-1 about a year ago.

I have a 34 4 inch, purchased new in 1976. It has paperwork, tools, original reinforced box even wax paper. Although I have fired it thousands of times I would rate it 95+%. I baby my guns. It was sent back to S&W in the early 80s to service springs, cylinder stop etc. The gunsmith at S&W returned it with a note "pristine condition externally with normal wear internally. Estimate tens of thousands of rounds fired"

I would never part with it but if sold would need something north of $1000. Bought it for $200, an expensive revolver in 1976.

FWIW you got a collector quality Smith, very much in demand. Congrats
