29-3 Silhouette Sight adjustment
I just picked up a 29-3 10 5/8” silhouette. It’s in great shape other than a couple spots on one side of the barrel.
I searched how to adjust the front sight but the dial on mine will not move at all. Am I missing something? Do you have to mess with the Hex adjustments on top before dial will move? Thanks

Normally, you push down on the back of the middle part, behind the hinge point. This raises the front part, allowing you to turn the wheel to the desired setting. Yours may be rusty. If nothing wants to move, soak it in oil for a few days and try again.

I forgot you have to push down on the sight in order to turn the dial. My dad had one of these when I was a kid. Works fine! Thanks

Very nice gun! I love how they look. Only a Model 29 can pull off a rifle length barrel on a revolver and not look goofy.
My brother had one in the early 90's and sold it due to marriage. Now he's a free man and looking to get one again. I may have to help him.....maybe. My luck is 3 days after I get it for him he meets another "love of his life" and the vicious cycle starts over again.

I used one in IHMSA silhouette matches, mainly as a lark, because the 29's back then would not stand up to a steady diet of the loads required to knock down the rams. I sold mine to a buddy who put it in his safe, saving it for his grandson, he said. Interesting revolver, tho.
