How about a 6 "586 and Model 27-2. 586's 4" twin is in the safe.

jeff85, I really like your 586.

My first L-Frame was a 6" 686 no-dash that I bought in 1985 also....& like yours it had a Patridge front sight. I traded it in the mid-90's for a shotgun.

If I was ever tempted to get another 586 (got 2 now, see post #10) it would be just like yours, a 6" no-dash with the Patridge sight.

Seeing another 586 snub makes this thread all the worthwhile.

Default 586

Here is a trio that is hard to find!

They will NOT chamber a 357 round, only 38SPL. I have had other Brazil guns that were marked 38SPL but would chamber a 357 round

4 586-1

This one was well used but was cared for when I got it a few years ago.

Out of all of my handguns, this one might just be my favorite.

The action is smooth as glass and it is a dead-on Tack-Driver.

BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Police commemorative, a 4"bbl Blued 586 with a nickel side plate bearing the BART PD emblem.

Not treated as a safe queen, this thing can put 'em in the black when I do my part.

Lots of 586 fans here, I see. I'm a BIG fan of the 586/581 models. They're two of the most beautiful S&W revolvers ever made.

And, I'm a really big fan of the 586... with fixed sights... which goes by the model name 581.

This next one was customized for me by Mark Hartshorne of Pinnacle Precision Revolvers. The action is mind boggling.

My first 4 586 ND purchased back in the early 90s . What a shooter this thing is!
My second 586-3 is a 6 gun. I purchased just about a year ago or so. Another excellent shooter.

I have a 586 no dash, post 18. I am all into blued revolvers by preference. BUT....... my 686-6 is more fun to shoot than the 586. The lines appeal to me. It was a gun that I saw that I had to have. Did have a 686-3, 6" that I traded off. Bob

excuse the 686 brother in picture. This is my -1 nickel 4" 586 (has M on cylinder) gifted to me by my late Father-in-Law. He definitely started my love affair for Smith wheel guns and this officially was the start of my "family". Thanks everyone for the wonderful eye candy!
