Default Model 65-3 3” AYM serial

Hi, from searching around it appears that this serial would be between 1988-1989.
Appreciate confirmation.

Based on information provided in the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Edition, prefix AYM has been documented in 1988. No other year listed for that prefix.

Default S&W 65-3 AYU date help, wasn’t AUM

Any help? Still 1988 or 89?

Unless there is someone here who is maintaining their own database of serial numbers, 1988 is about as close as you will get with paying for a factory letter.
