Several weeks ago, I posted a question about the yoke screw.
I was having problems and thought replacing the yoke screw would resolve the issue. Replaced the yoke screw that was shipped by S&W customer service. Did not resolve the problem. The only way you could reset the trigger was to open the cylinder and close it. Then, it would fire either in double or single action. Until you did this, you could not pull the trigger or cock the hammer.
S&W received the 625, according to Fed X on 9-25. Yesterday, Fed X returned it to me. ( Repairs were covered under warranty, thank goodness. ) Other than a hand written notation about replacing the yoke screw spring on a printed ck list, no explanation was included. It works as it should. Happy with my dealings with them and no repair cost. Would like to know if the tip of the yoke screw which had broken off caused the problem as I had never removed it. I was curious about the spring but could not find it on the schematic on the Numrich web site
Now the story gets interesting.
S&W included 4 packs w/ 3 in each pack stainless steel full moon clips that do not require tools to load or remove. As soon as I saw them, I said to myself that there is no way a .45 could be mounted. So I got some 10mm ammo and the clips are for 10mm not 45.acp.
Got my 610 and Ruger GP 100 to see if the clips would fit. No on 610 but yes on the GP100. In fact, they appear to be just like the ones that Ruger supplied with the GP100.
Wow, got some more moon clips for my Gp100.
The only thing I can figure is that they included the 10 mm clips by mistake. Maybe they had them on hand for the S&W 646 .40 ?
Any way, my gain and I am happy. ( I have an adequate supply full moon clips for my 610. )
