Default N-Frame RB Grip upgrade question

HOWDY,

Here is a tough question or maybe an easy one... Who would make a nice set of targets for a RB N-Frame? There is the obvious of course Culina and or Eagle maybe Nill(can one even get Nill grips any more, can culnia make grips to look checkered like SB targets?)? Can some examples be shown off please ?

The Houges that were chosen to ship on some of the variants, I dont think I'll ever understand why...

The reason I ask is I'm looking to get into a RB N-Frame and I cant have it sitting with rubbers on...

Thanks
Erik

I have some Ahrends on my 629-4 Classic, but Ahrends has gone out of business and the grips are getting expensive.

Ahrends were the best bang for the buck, imo.

Not targets but combats.

I believe Nill Grips are still available for RB N frame revolvers.

I’ll second Kim Ahrends for round butt N frame. Tung oiled Cordia on my 629-2 Mountain Revolver.

Well I ordered these for a gun that I just sold but haven't received them yet. I'd be willing to send them to the person that bought my gun at no charge if they like them..

I probably won't get them until late Nov. or early Dec. but when I do they're yours at this point I have no need of them.

On eBay the Thailand grips were nice, I’m not sure how affordable they are today. They were rosewood grips. Check eBay for round butt to square butt conversion grips. I’ll post pics when I get a chance. I just got out of the hospital.

I have two sets of the full round butt grips and they fit quite nicely. One on a 629, 3" and one on a 29 Classic. I guess YMMV but mine look great. They also installed the S&W medallions, which I provided. I have a set of Hogue wood grips also but I think the Badger's are better. Plus they won't cost more than the gun did.

On eBay, message discovery_for_me - he makes VERY nice copies of S&W stocks. I have several sets and the only really noticeable difference between them and the genuine article is that his are almost nicer - and a whole lot less expensive!

Hello to all of you from the "old world",
I was discussing rubber grips with some chaps here mainly regarding the US rubber grip manufacturers.
For many, here in Europe, those rubber grips are very small and thin. For my hands, on many, my little finger doesn't find its place.
On my model 29, the original wooden grip is fine in volume despite a bit short. Easy for the rubber manufactures to make S, L and XL grips. Why this is not done?
The Austrians of Glock, propose different sizes of grips by using adaptable plastic parts.....not so complicated to do, is it?
Even the wood grips, on line, are very difficult to assess whether they would suit you when you've got wide hands....
Cheers,
Jacques

I'm a little late getting back to this thread, but these are the Badger grips that I posted about. I think they came out good and the price was reasonable. Sorry for the glare but now that there's no ammo to practice shooting my guns, maybe I can work on shooting my camera!

A guy on FB, look up Dub Grips, he has nice grips all the time for sale. Very reasonable, but is hit or miss on model and style.

How are they for fit and finish? I'm interested in their grips for my 29-4.

I'm really satisfied with the way they fit. They are not Culinas but they are about 1/3 the price and I shoot and carry this gun a lot so I didn't want to spend a ton for new grips. No offense to others who don't agree, but the grips that came from Smith on this gun are about the most ugly wood grips I've ever owned!
