13-3 value
I have a chance to pick up a S&W 13-3 3" RB (44361 ) no box or tools but real nice shape they are asking 700.00, ad says these were a run for issue to the FBI but it isn't marked that I can see.
Don't have the gun yet, maybe shortly LOL
Fair price or a bit high ?

I don't think the FBI guns were marked. Someone will be along shortly with more info.
I'm thinking $700 may be just a tad high. But of course price can vary depending on location and desire.
I have a 3" Model 13-4 which I absolutely love. I think a 3" K-frame is the ideal carry revolver.

Sought after and hard to come by....... $700 is more than I'd want to pay.... but I would!
Got my 3" 65 in 1986 for about $250! Saw another in a LGS about a year ago for $600.
The 3" 13 was the last FBI issue revolver.... but doubt your's is one that was "issued" .......

In CA that would be a reasonable price assuming it is in pretty good shape. Were I in the market I would buy at that price as long as the gun checks out as solid.

It is a good price in the current market.
This type of sidearm was FBI issue but I have seen only a very few in private hands that could be verified as such with a letter of authenticity.

I wouldn't hesitate at that price in the current market.
3" 13s and 65s have really been climbing over the last few years. I've been watching the auctions and wincing at the prices, but got lucky and picked up a 65-3 locally today. Definitely shooter grade, but a good price.

They are few and far between in my neck of the woods at any price. I have one, my last issued revolver, and I would not consider selling it for $700.
If its in good shape and if you want one, its not a bad price. In six months you will wish you had bought it if you pass and if you buy it you will have forgotten about the price.

Good advise all. I can tell you this, and it has been preached many times on this forum. Don't let ~$50 or so stand in the way of a gun you want or have been looking for. Three inch 13's are few and far between. I had one up for sale more than the OP's quote but I was also offering a set of round butt rosewood grips with it as well as the originals. No takers so it's back in the safe. Most likely will not pull it out to sell again any time soon.

From what I've been seeing lately, $700 would be a steal.

A RB 13-3 with 3 inch barrel for $700 is a good price these days. As for it being a genuine FBI issue piece, could be, but unlikely. The FBI's policy when retiring firearms is to destroy them, they generally do not allow agents to keep them nor do they trade them in for new weapons.

Yes, if it were in nice condition I’d happily give $700.
I could care less if it was from the FBI.
I paid $775 for my ANIB 3” 13-3 about 2 years ago.

I only know of 3 FBI confirmed 13 3" guns in existence. I would pay 700 for one without blinking an eye. My 13 3" could use a LEO buddy

I have a 3" Model 13 and a 3" Model 65...and wouldn't sell either of them for $700, especially in today's market.
S&W ain't makin' any more of them...and demand is strong...that means only one thing where price is concerned...

$700 for a clean 3 inch 13 is very reasonable. They are desirable revolvers, and they will more than likely hold their value.... Unlike the plastic bottom-feeders that people are paying crazy prices for these days.
Buy it, and don't forget to ask for a couple boxes of ammo.

Decided to pass on the 13-3, picked up another 27-2 8&3/8' made in 1969 according to serial # S 328xxx.
Any one interested 13-3 is listed on Texas Gun Trader. Please forgive me if I wasn't supposed to post the Ad location here and please delete this post. Just trying to help fellow enthusiasts.
