Default New 610 4" and 6"

My LGS has almost no inventory. When I walked in today to see if he had anything of interest I as surprised to see 2 brands new 610s in his case. A 4" and 6" (I assume 6" anyway.) His price on the 4" was $900+ (I can't remember exact price but under $1000 over $900.) I thought the 610 went for pretty good money ...over a $1K for sure. But I am absolutely not up on pricing. Your thoughts?

My lgs had a 4" 610 a few months ago for something like just under 900. If they get another one in I got dibs! Lol

I just checked the S&W catalog and it's listed at $1007 MSRP. So this is not a super deal. I always forget to look at new gun prices because I am so used to buying out of production guns!!

They are in production again. I passed on some new ones earlier this year that were in the mid 700s. I would expect them to be closer to 1000 now, but everyone is still panic buying whatever they can get their hands on.

I have no idea on the price of older ones.

Yes, prior to the re-release of the 610, but the prices of the old ones (most of which were pre-lock) softened a bit due to the 610 being factory available again.

Last March I could have gone OTD in the high 800's, IIRC, at a LGS. Nice guns (they had both barrel lengths) but I don't care for N-frames.
L-frame 10 mm take my money.

You will have a hidden cost with the 610! You will want more moon clips(load at home/shoot at the range), the cost of ammo is higher(unless you reload), and you will want a moon clip loading tool and a demooner. I made my demooner! OR, come to my house when you want to shoot a 610!

Smile 40 cal

My favorite Local Gun Store gets the Mdl 610 10mm
in regularly. Since the 10mm is such an odd ball cartridge
they stick around in the Display Case, especially now.

Prices have been just over $900. I looked at them several
times, the Fit and Finished is extremely well done, all S&W
quirk's checked out just fine too.

I'm holding out for a 41Rem Mag, that's why I haven't
bought the Mdl 610 10mm.

The Best to you and your Endeavors.

At the time I saw the new ones in my favorite LGS didn't give the 610 the attention it deserves because I didn't have ammo for it and I wasn't going to start loading for a brand new caliber.

I have a few oddball boxes of .40 picked up in trades here and there but about a month ago my friend gave me a new set of 10mm dies, ziplocs full of .40 brass, about 2k hard cast bullets and 1k primers (all "abandoned" by his neighbor who moved out of state and couldn't take it with him).

Last week a lgs had some PPU 10mm cartridges on sale for $23/50. I sold 6 boxes of .45 ball that I wasn't going to shoot and bought 10 boxes of 10mm for a gun that I don't own...yet. Now I'll just wait for a 4" 610 to show up.
