Default SW 500 6.5" discontinued?
I have heard from several sources that S&W is not going to make this barrel size anymore. Is it because of lack of sales? I know the 4" and the long tubes are pretty popular. My 1st 500 was a 6.5" that I sold and wish I had not. (several years ago) I always thought that the 6.5" barrel looked the best on that particular gun. Particularly the 1/2 lug look compared to the full lug on all other offerings. I currently have a 4" I like them just because they are a blast to shoot. I may have to seek one out.

I can see S&W dropping the 6.5", One would need a 4" when walking in Brown (Grizzly) bear country, a 8 3/8 when hiking in Tyrannosaurus rex country and 6.5" out looking for Bigfoot. No one has found Bigfoot yet!
