Default I swear I wasn't looking for one of these.........

......but sometimes, its good to be ready when presented with something. Yep, I overpaid; nope I was not in the market for a 629-4. But when I see a 3" N-frame (honestly, I'm "done" at that point) box, docs, etc and that box also says, "Backpacker", I am defenseless!

I do need to give it a little Mother's buffing and bit of wax, but here it is anyway in all of her just 'got glory! Yes, yes I am excited and I am certain that the sting of the price will wear off soon enough, and I'm sure I have a pair of really nice Grashorns around here somewhere!

So, we might as well turn this in to a, "Show us your 629's" thread.....

Please do not buff it. The backpacker is my last grail gun and it’s starting to look like I’ll never be able to afford one

Not to worry Matt. I just "buffed" out some of the wear and scuffs........ the Pat Grashorn's don't hurt. If the look of 'er offends you, I'm sure she can be beat back into shape.

That’s another one of those guns with “just right” proportions, not unlike the 2.5 inch model 66.

Nice score.

Congratulations on finding one of those. Real nice gun that will get your attention with full-house loads.

629-4
69 (no dash)
66-3
60-9

I beg you all not to hold my terrible photo skills against these wonderful revolvers!!

Experts correct me, but in referencing 3rd ed. these were what looks to have been produced in 1994 only. In the absence of sending off for a letter, any ideas or knowledge as to production numbers? Thanks as always!

Here is my 629-6, it looks a little different than most though because it has a RoBar finish.
