Default Who knew?

I picked up a 325 Thunder Ranch a few months ago used. Its been a great gun however it didn't come with the rail for mounting a light. Yesterday I called S&W to order one thinking it would be a cheap part. Customer service gets back on the line after looking and tells me that its over $100 bucks. So I think I will forgo the little rail section as $100 can get me a nice set of grips or some new leather, something I would probably use more than a light on my Thunder Ranch. I was kind of surprised that a little section of rail would be over $100. Must be due to it being out of production now or something. I'm thinking the dealer I purchased it from must have taken it off and kept it or sold it off by itself knowing it was a valuable part. I'll have to keep my eyes open on eBay. Even though I didn't order the part and probably sounded like a cheap skate, Customer service was very nice and helpful.

In my very humble opinion, a gun mounted light just tells the bad guys where to shoot.

Well I don't mind using a weapon mounted light, its what is trained at work. I was thinking it would be a 20 part or so but for over 100, if I need a light on a gun, I'll stick with one of my railed bottom feeders. I generally don't run a light on my edc but I was thinking the 325 would make a good camping gun.
