Default Model 36 Question

I just picked up a Model 36 serial AYP941. Is this gun rated for +P ammo? About what year would it be? Thanks.

The "A" serials started I believe in 84/85 so stating mid 80's probably wouldn't be too far off base.

As far as +p you can shoot it, but I would stick to "occasionally" rather than all the time. The wear on your gun, hand, and pocketbook are issues.

Welcome aboard from ol' Wyo.

You're missing a number in your serial number.

I only have one AYP serial prefix listed in my database. It shipped in January 1988.

One of the ammo guys will have to answer your +P question. I don't shoot +P ammo in any of my Chiefs.
