Default Model 317 airlite

Picked up new toy! Taking grandsons to range to try out. Should be fun.

I hope your grandsons are grown men, children may have a difficult time cocking that gun. A spring kit makes a world of difference.

My wife has one of the 3” and she loves it. It’s strictly her range toy but it’s perfect for her since she’s recoil shy. She lets me shoot it once in a while and I enjoy it too.

My grandson didn’t care for mine . Light weight made it recoil a little to much for him . He went back to his M&P 15-22 and started blasting the target.

Get your hands on some Colibri or Super Colibri from Aguilla.

It is the round that I always start novice/children/fraidycats on

No powder, no recoil, no muzzle bark.

The 20 grain projectile is propelled solely by the priming compound

My wife likes CCI 22 Quiet in her 317, almost no recoil, the hard part is finding them.

Congrats on the new toy Groucho. Curious where you purchased that. I've been looking, looking, and looking, but no success.

I would recommend not to shoot any loads hotter than 1000 fps.

Mine usually just shoots CCI shot and some Colibri.

I only clean mine with CLP. It might take a little longer but it leaves the clear coat intact.

I loved mine had both the 317 and the kit gun, sold them both. Wish they would make a 5" gun of the same weight

BillBond,
Why do you make this recommendation?

Have you had a bad experience with 22LR ammunition?

On my two rather new 317's, both guns got tweaked to the point I could not shoot more than 3 or 4 rounds without the cylinder binding up.

Sent them back to S&W and they "fixed them".
Which brings up my only complaint about S&W, they won't tell you what was wrong or what they did to fix it.

First, what does "tweaked" mean?

Secondly what has any of that to do with your recommendation?
