686plus, 2.5"
Just won a 686+, 2.5" 7 shot for $710...new in bx (?, won't know till it arrives).Inputs appreciated. Good deal or over pd. I've been wanting a 357 to go with my 629-1, 44mag. Seems I lucked into this one. These are photos of a 686+, supposedly for illustrative purposes only. Did I do good?

Seems like a homerun considering the prices in this area

The least I paid, out the door, for a NIB 686-6+ (4"), was $759, 6 years ago. Considering inflation and the current shortages, looks like you did fine. Enjoy.

Bought a three inch last year. You did well. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Bought mine in 1996 for $299. It has been my carry gun ever since. With a 2.5" barrel it shoots great out to 50 feet. I am sure any perpetrator will never know the difference of a 2.5" to 3" barrel with a 135gr hollow point hitting them. Enjoy, it will never get any cheaper. 7 shooter pre-lock too baby!

Fine choice!! I believe you did well on the deal. They will only keep going up in price so better get one when you can at a decent price. Enjoy.

Congrats on a fine piece
Can’t go wrong with 2.5” 686, especially a seven shooter.

No, they sure won't! I like the shorties for ease of carry and for faster on target, and faster presentation. I don't own any Revo's longer than 3" barrels.

@CH4 & Mehutch
Looking at your M686-4 again... That is one really sweet piece of hardware! I'm a .38Special and .44Special nut... Love the .44Maggie too. Tried to love the .357Magnum loads for 20 years but for some damned reason I just don't shoot that caliber (nor .357Sig for some strange reason), very well. However, "HOT" .38Specials are not a problem for me. I'd love to have a clone of your 686+ and carry heavy 150gr Hard Cast Wads from Underwood or "Clone" loads... They are really accurate out of everything I've shot. Hmmmmm, I'm on the hunt now thanks to your beautiful post(s) CH4 & Mehutch... The wife won't be happy but I'm always in some sort of trouble around here anyways... It makes marriage fun!
