I have posted before about it. Not alot of information about them out there I've read that only 1200 of the stainless ones were made mine is so far only fired at factory I know they dont have the dx designation but are they essentially a dx? I have compared the test targets to other dx models and it has the same accuracy at 50 yards as the dx does. (Left target is a dx found online. right target is my magna.Any other information on the magna would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

It appears to be a legit example... It looks to have came with the correct 50 yard targets... She should have came with a little box/bag of 5-6 different front easily changeable sights as well and appears to be what is in that little black box. She's legit it appears though the shooter of the original target needs a bit more practice at holding a group when benched and/or needs better ammo or both. All kidding aside, "You did good chubby!"

They were the first run of full lug barrel 29's and 629's to kick off the introduction of the "Classic" models so they were made before the "Classic DX" models were introduced. They were held to an accuracy standard and shipped with 8 front sight inserts and test target. The 7.5" barrel was/is unique.

The Magna Classic and early Classic DX revolvers were tested at 50 yards to stay under 2". The later Classic DX revolvers were tested at 25 yards and held to 1.5" so it is safe to say that the Magna and earlier DX revolvers (629-3 and 29-5) were held to a higher standard of accuracy then the later DX revolvers (629-4 and 629-5,29-6).

So to answer your question they were just as accurate as a DX, yes.

About 4 years ago, those revolvers were on Gun Broker in the $1,000 to $1,200 range. Different dealers provided different description details.

At the time, I was trying to find an affordable square butt 7-1/2" full lug barrel M629 with unfluted cylinder sold by Ashland. These ranged from $875 to $1,100 and came in the standard paper box.

I have had a blued Magna Classic for many years. The cylinder throats on mine measure .427. I size both jacketed and lead bullets down to .427 ( I shoot mostly lead). Does anybody else with a Magna have undersized throats?
