Default 36-7 date?

Just picked up a 36-7 Ladysmith at a LGS with the original box. Serial # BFC4091. Should be a 90's gun? Can anyone tell me the actual date?

Its in great shape!

Howdy,

Nice looking Chiefs Special Lady Smith.

My 36-7 BKP9865, which also came in the burgundy plastic case, shipped in October 1991 so I'd guess yours shipped a wee bit earlier.

My database contains a 36-7 LS with a BFB prefix that shipped in March '91.

S&W didn't ship in serial number order so it's always a WAG.

Cheers,

Now that’s a nice looking 36. You are very fortunate.

If the box has the original end label, the Special Order code usually pinpoints a gun's age pretty precisely.
