Default 629-4 secured

Model 29-4...not a 629-4

I have passed on .the .44 mag variety in the past as I just like .357 better. Didn’t want to add another bullet size to look for. This time I couldn’t pass up the price of $400 for a late 1988 serial prefix BBW with the 8 3/8” barrel. It has the 3T’s and the left side of the gun is clean. The right side has some freckling on one spot of the cylinder and a good dozen other spots that need attention. Seller threw 8 rounds and 42 empty brass as well. Waiting for some warmer weather here in Michigan to go out put some rounds through it.

Nice snag, I would buy that all day long at 400. Is it me or the lighting, but that looks like a 29, not a 629?

Either way nice!

I also paid $400 for an M29 (6" dash 3) ... but that was 14 years ago! You got a great buy.

I resisted .44 Magnums for many years. Then got assimilated....

Best long range revolvers that I've found, by a lot! (I still keep trying to get a .41 or .357 to do well past 100yds, but no joy yet. Best runner up to date has been the .45 Colt, weirdly enough.)

29-3Es and -4s seem to be right scarce. I've never owned one, not sure I've even held one.

I have an 8” 629.
Is it really shooting if the tube is up against the target?

Show some targets on your first range outing
