Default Contouring a Hogue X grip

My thanks to the member that suggested to do this. Sanding with an 80 grit foam block let me remove material and custom fit the grip to my hand. My middle finger knuckle no longer gets hit by the trigger guard. I sanded down the finger grip ridges and deepened the trough between them. I also rounded the butt end for better CCW.

Does anyone know if one can sand those finger grooves completely off?

I think you can. The finger ridges and the butt seem to be solid rubber, not hollow. The thinnest area seems to be the troughs between the finger ridges.

Good work. About the only thing that stands out for me is work on the aft end of the bottom of the grip. Hope that works out for you. Don

Yes you can. I've done it. If you go too far you will end up seeing the plastic under the rubber. I normally take my Dremel to get the groves off. I like a smaller grip but I like the Hogue style and I use their Big Butt on all my revolvers.
