An object is worth what someone is willing to pay for it! I guess to you it was worth what you paid, regardless of the going market price at the time. Since the buying process is long over and there is nothing you can do about it, forget about the price, shoot it and enjoy!
The one gun I did over pay for was a NIB 1974 production Colt Gold Cup NM. I purchased it because I wanted the specific features that were no longer available in the 1980's and I did over pay by about $150 bucks - and was fully aware of that at the time and willing to do it. I looked high and low for what I wanted and while I found a few examples, none were NIB /pristine. Since that is the way I like to but my guns, the $150 did not make it a deal breaker. I've owned the gun for about 40 years, have shot tens and tens of thousands of rounds through it, and it remains my all time favorite Competition, Target, Range pistol! No regrets .....
