Default Model 29 help

I must have posted this in the wrong place...I have a Model 29-3 that I need some history on...no picture right now, but the serial number is AEK1538...based on this info, can somebody give me some history on this gun?

That should be 1983 to 1985; can't get you closer. It doesn't have the later performance package, but but unless you enjoy 'loud' and 'hard-kicking' magnums constantly, it'll last you a couple of lifetimes. I have a 29-3 4" that came to me nearly unfired - it's really nice even without the pinned and recessed barrels like a 29-2 and earlier models. Yours should have checkered Goncalo Alves target stocks if it's a 1983/84, or the full speedloader cut if it's '85 or later. Someone will be along soon with more definitive info, I'd suspect.
