Bought one of the above today. Looks pretty nice. Very excited to take it out and shoot some .40 in the next couple weeks as I happen to have quite a few .40 projectiles that I can load up.

1. Any words of caution while shooting the .40 out of a 10mm revolver?
2. What is a good source for the moon clips?

Because of the extra bullet jump you may experience as modest reduction in accuracy, assuming you can hold REALLY well otherwise. In actuality it is unlikely to be an issue.

I use RIMZ for routine range use (plastic) and Ranch Products for steel, but there are plenty of manufacturers of the things out there.

Anybody tried Speed Beez?

Just sent an email to Ranch Products as they do not list prices on their web site. Any idea about what they charge for 10 0r 20 at a time? Thanks!

I also use the Rimz moon clips and the work great. Mine is set up as a hunting gun but so far no problems with them.

Did you get the 4" or the 6 1/2" version?

I have been using moon clips from Ranch Products for decades. They work great and they are reasonably priced.

I will usually sit watching the news a day or two before shooting and load up 20-30-40 clips and drop them in my shooting bag

A few days after shooting, I will de-moon while waching the TV

I tried RIMZ years ago and was very dissatisfied with them.

If you drop RIMZ on the floor, ammunition comes out. If you try to carry a couple in a jacket pocket, ammunition comes out. I MUCH prefer the solid grip that real moon clips have on ammunition

In 40 years of using Metal moon clips I have never had a round pop out of them

I bought a 4" 610-3 a month or so ago and have yet to get it out to the range. I never even thought of the .40 cal option. Good idea for cost savings.

By the way, I bought the 6.5" version. I was open to the 4", just ran across a deal on the 6.5" version first. My assumption is that once 10mm becomes available again, the longer barrel may help to tame the recoil of the 10mm a bit.

I was actually a bit excited when I realized that my 45acp loading tool and unloading tool appear to work quite nicely w/ the 610.

I regularly shoot 40S&W reloads out of mine and can ring the gongs out to 75m with great satisfaction and aplomb! I use the Ranch moonclips, and they run about $0.70 apiece. Nothing fancy, but they work very well. I made a demooner tool out of a golf club shaft. I agree that the longer bbl will help with recoil mitigation. I look forward to a range report.

I can't comment on their moon clips but when I have dealt with them, their customer service (willingness to communicate) was sorely lacking.

Their products that I have used are good though.

Got the Gp100 ruger 3in 10mm .[before S&W came out]
Use ranch products clips .
The 10mm is quite something from a revolver.
Range 10mm kicks like hunting 357s.
Havent tried 40 yet.
The fast reloading moon clips will astound you.
Took a Class with ****ingham and found that a 45acp [same with 10mm]
with moon clips can be loaded in anyway witch way as long as you thumb the clip till the cylinder starts to close.
PS A trick I learned was to load the gun [from the night stand and put a second clip on the little finger of the off hand.[like a big ring]
To reload , open eject , pull clip from little finger and insert ...
Can also hold a smaller LED light [like a shurfire etc ]
In off hand with moon clip...

I ordered from Ranch this morning. Looking forward to trying the moon clips and the revolver later this week. Have enjoyed shooting the 625 and the 986 so this is a natural progression.
