Default Changing of the Guard

I replaced my EDC today.

After trying everything hot, new, hip, some years ago I gravitated back to the original one.

My 1st EDC was my Dad's 36. Good gun.

After all the others I went back to a J. My late brother's 640-1, his EDC. A great, accurate gun.

But heavy. Recently I wanted another J but an Airweight.

Forum member Eagle1* had a LNIB 442-1 no lock for a fair price. So now the 640-1 gets a well deserved retirement , and the 442 is now on duty.

I put the Ace Grips that were on it when Jimmy carried it back on. I'll never sell it. I still have Dad's 36 as well.

Call me old school, but IMHO nothing beats a J frame S&W for EDC. Compact, powerful, never jams.

I agree. Someone started a thread recently asking if you could only carry 10 rounds what would you carry?
My response was 2 .357 J frames

Can't argue with your choice, and would employ one of my 640s as such, if I were allowed to carry. With that said, I did have a Model 60 fail to fire; there was lint behind the trigger. Luckily, I was at the range. Long ago, I too once thought revolvers were infallible.
