686 plus 3" barrel question
Going to bid on a 686 plus 3" barrel. Are all new 686 plus 3" revolvers round butt? I should probably be more concerned if the barrel is canted. Thanks!

I’ve never seen or heard of a factory 2-1/2” or 3” 686 with a square butt grip frame.
The fact that it’s a Plus model makes it an easy call. All the Plus models had round butt grip frames.

Mine is a round butt and so is my 4 inch. They came with different grips though.

What grips are the rubber grips on your 3" I ordered some Hogue Bantams because I didn't care for the 3-5-7 grips in the photo. After receiving the 686 with the 3-5-7 grips I found them surprisingly comfortable!

I just got one and had it home for 1/2 hour when it dressed itself in some of bigmtnman's elk stags I had laying around and accessorized itself with a BK grip adaptor. The good news is that the K/L frame grips are some of the most plentiful. Find what you like.

They are the stock grips that come on the regular 686 3 inch. Comfortable to shoot. Fit my hand well. Not comfortable if you have them under a shirt next to your skin. I do not know who makes them.

Uncle Mikes makes the grip but any grip maker will fit for a 686 plus will fit.

I can't find any grips on the Uncle Mike's web site; do you have a link you can share with us?
I've never seen these grips for sale anywhere but S&W and at least for the round butt grips I think you have to call and ask. A recent thread discussed these grips and as I recall the price from S&W was very reasonable, something like $30.
