Doesn't look like it in the Standard Catalog of S&W. Since they're a 'Hunter' model, no 4" barrels. And I find no full lug barrels earlier than the Mod 29-5 beginning ~1990-91.

You'll just have to settle for a 29-5 or later and have the longer barrel cut down. Or if you can find a full lug barrel, have it cut and mounted on a 29-3.

You'll have the only one!

No I always thought they missed the boat by not offering a full lug four inch barrel. Especially during the bowling pin era.

Default Not a 4 inch, but a 5 inch

Speaking of bowling pins, this one has won a few matches...

That's about what I wanted so I made one from a 629-3 with a 6.5" barrel.
Well balanced and fun to shoot. I've since dulled up the shiny surfaces.

Truckman, I really like your 29-3. 5 inch with full lug. Any chance of seeing more it? Are they hard to find?

Enclosed is an excerpt from Dr. Jinks' letter (the dating and spelling errors only prove that Roy is human, and not an antimated super-computer as some imagine)......

The letter indicates that since all work was done at S&W, the gun went from one of 25 to one of one...It's still unfired in the box...I'll let you decide how hard they are to find......Ben
