Default Model 10 Serial starts with CBR

New to the forum and appreciate all the knowledge here. I did search but was unable to find any info about the "CBR" prefix on a Model 10 S/N. Spec. Ord. is 6345. Anyone out there able to help with history on this gun? TIA

1999 – BBA, CBD, CBR, CDB, CDD, CDE, CDF, CDH, CDJ, CDK, CDP, CDR, CDS, CDT, CDW

Supica, Jim,Nahas, Richard. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson) (Kindle Locations 17059-17060). F+W Media. Kindle Edition.

Although my book indicates "CBR" associated with 1999, the Spec. Ord. number equates to 10 December 1996.

The box also has "Federal Marshal" printed on the label so guessing it may have been a small run for the gov...?

Model 10-10, 4" Blue, RB with Uncle mikes grips, w/serrated backstrap, s/n CBK4281 and CBR2839. Box marked “US Marshal”.

Supica, Jim,Nahas, Richard. Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson (Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson) (Kindle Locations 6760-6761). F+W Media. Kindle Edition.

Here's another small bit of info from the book which indicates a batch was made for the US Marshal's Service.

I know my 10-10 is a California Department of Corrections revolver. It has CDC printed underneath the cylinder. On the opposite side of the frame electro stenciled is HDSP and a couple numbers. I always assumed HDSP stood for High Desert State Prison. It too has the uncle mikes grips.
