Default DID S&W make a pre-lock version of the 619 & 620

I like the look of the 619... a L-Frame fixed sight seven shot revolver with an appearance of a Model 65.

But I hate the lock. Did Big Blue make it without the lock?

I do not think there is such an animal. I am pretty sure 7 round cylinders and locks are synonymous.

Locks did not come on the scene until Smith & Wesson was purchased by lock maker Saf-T-Hammer in May of 2001. Locks were slowly incorporated into th existing firearm designs.

However new designs (2001 and later) incorporated the lock right from the start

Unfortunately the Model 619 was not introduced until 2005. So there are no pre-lock examples of the firearm

Cosmetically most of us do not like the lock but I have never let the lock stand in the way of purchasing a model that was never available any other way.

Seven round cylinders have no connection to locks.

What in the world would make you think these two things were tied together

The first seven round 357 Magnum Smith & Wessons appeared on the scene in 1995
