I have a 625-6, 3" and it was indicated to me that it may be a limited run by a distributor. The serial # is CEF33xx.
I have had it for a long time and have shot and carried it a lot.
I may have it refinished.
Also, are those the factory grips?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks. K.

I can't help you with identifying it but that is as damn nice 625. I love the 3"ers. Definitely a keeper.

I think it was me who mentioned that the -6 was a limited run. SmithNut posted an advertisement a few years back that listed the 625-6 and also a 610 and I think a 657, all three inchers in limited quantities. I owned a -6 at one time and think it had rosewood laminated grips originally. The ones on your 625 are Ahrends, some PC guns come with them. I sent my 625-3 to the Performance Center for the Combat Revolver Package that includes a bead blasted refinish, action work, chamfer the charge holes and install a trigger stop. Here's what it looked like before it left.
I installed the correct hammer before shipping it off.

No, those are Ahrends, aftermarket.
Here's the ad mentioned above:
Pretty sure your gun is one of these, notice the short flutes on the cylinder.....

SmithNut- thanks for posting that ad. I was off on the number of 625's but remembered the rest of the details. Considering that my memory isn't what it used to be, it's nice to know I am retaining the important things. LOL
I didn't recall that they had short flutes.
BuzzardBilly- that's one nice looking 657!

Thanks, for the info. After looking at your great looking guns, it makes me want to send it off to be refinished.
That 610, 3" is one that I have been looking for for a long time, a 500-600 one, not a 1,200 dollar one. Maybe one day I will find what I am looking for...
Being that there were only 150 625-6 like this made, any idea of it's value?

I have one of the 657's also. I believe it is a CEV serial #. I had been looking for one of the other 3" .41 when I found it. Needless to say, I jumped on it. It is one of my favorites. I paid more for it than I had intended, but I don't plan on selling it

First, great looking Smith! Congratulations on finding a hard to find gun. Don't ever let her go!
I have a set of those grips for my 625-3. I let her wear them for pictures, but when it comes to taking her to the range, I dress her Hogue finger groove rubber grips. While the wood is beautiful, I find they HURT. When compared to the Hogues there is no contest for "shootability". The best $15 dollars I have spend on her.
Mine has seen 10's of thousands of rounds and is still going strong.
It was my first handgun, and will be the last I ever sell.

3 inch 610.. I came across one this weekend. Looks unfired but, no box. I traded a used Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter and $175.
His asking price was $679
