UPDATE ON MY CENTURY SCORE 66-2
This was the rougher one between the two. So I decided to make a more modern carry piece.
I stippled the backstrap, reprofiled the hammer, chamfered the front of the cylinder, chamfered the chambers, new style thumbpiece, slicked up the action, complete bead blast finish and added a set of cocobolos. I really like the way it came out.

Only minor pitting on the frame (right above the grip) I couldn't get off without excess metal removal.

As a strong believer in the possibilities of upgrading marginal or compromised examples, especially of relatively common models, and making something special, I heartily approve. While collectors cringe and clutch their pearls, another group of us actually enjoy our guns and getting the most we can from them with tasteful mods. Guess which group has the most fun. Well done, dvanncvann, well done!
BTW, I used a pair of dark (ebony look) square butt grips on my stainless K frame project. They are as comfortable to shoot as just about any grips I’ve used. The Thai grip makers are turning into a great resource.
Froggie
PS I should qualify as an old fogey… is 72 too old to be a young upstart?

That M66 looks great. The mat finish hides the pitting above the grip too.
I just bought a beater M65 in the hopes of ending up with something as nice as your M66.
