Also, S&W made a run of revolvers a year or so ago in bright blue "Classic" N frames with 3" barrels . . . including .357, .44 and .45ACP versions.
Unfortunately, they were all IL models so I passed on 'em. Nice looking guns though, except for the weep hole on the left side.
Back in the '70s and '80s, before S&W got wise to what consumers wanted, many gunsmiths, including Jovino chopped the barrels down to 2 3/4-3 1/4" lengths. This size makes the ultimate fighting revolver, IMHO.
Mine was made by a now deceased master wheelsmith in Savannah, retaining the square butt and with a 3 1/4" barrel and the slickest single and double action trigger pull I've ever experienced on a S&W revolver! It would be the very last handgun I'd ever part with. What a gun! I've won quite a few handgun matches with this fast pointing tackdriver!
It sort of looks like a 3" barreled Model 19 on steroids!
