Default S&W 500 with 14 rounds included

Was looking at a local gun board and found a 4" S&W 500 for sale,"bought this from the original owner back in 2017. I have yet to fire it; it does appear to have been minimally fired. Comes in blue Smith hard case with manual, tool, keys, and the 2 factory compensators. I will include 14 rounds of ammo." Guessing that was plenty for the original owner. Reminded me of the Model 29s that came with a box of 44 rounds and 6 pieces of brass

That is probably a typo.

Since the cylinder holds 5 instead of 6 rounds there would be 15 rounds of ammo after firing one cylinder full

Maybe 5 rounds were fired and one was a souvenir for a friend.

When the Marlin guide Gun was first introduced, two friends bought a pair of them from Vance's in Columbus, Ohio. The next day they were for sale, one fired twice and one unfired. Since I was a very regular customer, I was given the remaining unfired ammo! I love 45-70, but always shot reloads and had never fired factory ammo before. They were 300 grain Winchester. I found their recoil to be extremely mild compared to the 400 grain 2150fps ammo I normally shot in modern lever actions. But if all you had ever shot were 22's I would understand your thinking the world was coming to an end!

The only 50 caliber handgun I've fired was my Dessert Eagle 50 AE. I never thought it had much actual recoil; however the torque of the bullet entering the rifling twisted the gun in a unique way. But 400 rounds later (took a few years) It was normal and just the way that gun was.

BIL owns a sporting goods shop in another town. I was up there once and saw what looked like a brand new 416 Ruger in the used gun rack. When I asked about it, he said a guy bought it, had him mount a scope on it and left with a box of ammo. He was back in about an hour and traded the rifle and 19 rounds of ammo for another rifle. Some people do not handle recoil as well as others

Thought you were going to tell us that the owner had a circular cut on his forehead from the scope. Don

I have a Mohawk 660 with in 350 Remington magnum. Sitting on a bench wearing just a T shirt to zero the scope was NOT FUN. Off hand it isn't too bad, during the fall hunting season with a jacket on it would be OK. I don't have many rounds for it, but that is because factory brass is hard to come by. That is called a hint if anybody has some they don't need.

I find it interesting that none of my guns have any noticeable recoil when shooting them at game.

S&W500 at 35 yards. Don't remember any noticeable recoil, though. My thoughts may have been elsewhere.
